400mike_whitmarshFeedback (Q1-3)Question 1b: Do you have any further comments or suggestions about the use of the Imagine Portsmouth draft version and objectives? The Green City objective includes some irreversible aspects that must be carefully managed. This objective should also consider water quality, with the impact of the port and other human activities, as well as the existing natural mitigations. Portsmouth must protect our existing biodiversity, climate change mitigations and protection of air and water quality. The Tipner West development threatens many of these and the existing mudflats must be protected for all the reasons in the Green City objective.

523Feedback (Q1-3)Question 1b: Do you have any further comments or suggestions about the use of the Imagine Portsmouth draft version and objectives? If a massive housing target of 17,000 new homes is the dominant issue I would have expected it to feature in the Strategic Objectives. It would make sense to have a Strategic Objective "A City with the right quantum and balance of housing consistent with the capacity to accommodate them"

534Feedback (Q1-3)Question 1b: Do you have any further comments or suggestions about the use of the Imagine Portsmouth draft version and objectives? If the council is genuine about its mission to protect wildlife and increase biodiversity, planning at Tipner would not have been put forward. Furthermore, proposed new developments for areas, do not make biodiversity a major concern. Taking Edinburgh House, Cosham, as an example: An ecologist may have been attributed to the project, but at the recent event, no members of the team were able to specify what opportunities were being considered, for biodiversity, in the proposed development. With a local planning application, the biodiversity survey was completed after felling of mature trees and this has not been addressed. This all contributes to the feeling that planners are not particularly concerned about protecting and enhancing biodiversity.
575Feedback (Q1-3)Question 1b: Do you have any further comments or suggestions about the use of the Imagine Portsmouth draft version and objectives? It seems quite vague and there seems to be a contradiction between the 'green' aspiration and the reality of council developments.
