381 | janathome | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | National Policy also requires the availability of physical capacity; environmental capability; and infrastructure. These criteria are absent in sufficiency now. We can't create environmental or physical capacity to accommodate the infrastructure to serve the annual 872 new dwellings for 15 years. We have become the most densely populated City in the UK because we've persistently tried to force development into too small an area creating the high deprivation levels and social & environmental distress we are already suffering with. To continue with the same policy is to perpetuate the error and exacerbate the distress. |
389 | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | The size of the island and the size of the waiting list for local authority owned homes.
390 | jlloyd | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | Consideration needs to be given to our limited surface area on which to build, we are an island and cannot spread out. Plus the limitations on infrastructure, particulalry roads and rail should mitigate the supply of housing on the island itself. |
397 | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | There is an acute shortage of land in Portsmouth. We are already densely populated. We need Council homes and brownfield sites like Commercial road area for housing not Tipner
398 | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | Absolutely rammed already. Unless it's skyscrapers (think cladding!) then there isn't the room
405 | martin | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | There is plenty of room for housing in the city. What we need is more high rise, more imaginative developments in places like Tipner and MUCH, MUCH better infrastructure |
416 | andrewpreston | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | Portsmouth has a relatively mild and attractive climate. It attracts many homeless people who are 'moved on' by other cities. There is an above average need for housing for homeless people and those with mental health problems. |
422 | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | Over populated island already with not enough infrastructure to support the city residents.
424 | rbarlow | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | The currently very high density plus the physical restrictions of an island city |
432 | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 4b: (If yes) Please tell us more about these exceptional circumstances | Portsmouth is already massively overpopulated with little in the way of green space. We can not continue building over every spare bit of land in Portsmouth. |
