The student accommodation currently available in Portsmouth is largely vacant and too expensive, leading to 2nd year students especially, moving to private student homes. | |

Controversial I know, but a bigger house takes resources from provision for all. I think there should bea three bed limit on such houses. |

| 416 | andrewpreston | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 6b: Do you have any further comments or suggestions about the suggested approach to the provision of housing in Portsmouth? | I was impressed by Portsmouths decision, before the covid epidemic, to house some homeless people over winter at the Southsea Caravan Park. I am not sure whether this was value for money or not but such sites do meet a need for rough sleepers during a cruel season of the year. Equally I was dismayed to hear that some people with mental health problems, sleeping rough and being ex servicemen, were given train tickets to move on by some department in the council. Liasion with SASA would have been the first obvious action or contacting the local mental health team. |

| 424 | rbarlow | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 6b: Do you have any further comments or suggestions about the suggested approach to the provision of housing in Portsmouth? | There is insufficient focus upon environmental impact, such as in types of structure, design of homes and construction methods |
| 436 | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 6b: Do you have any further comments or suggestions about the suggested approach to the provision of housing in Portsmouth? | Is there consideration given to the council owning a significant portion of proposed new builds so that those that need help with rent etc or are local authority are not paying private rent prices which are extortionate. If rent was capped, then people would be able to buy their own homes and private landlords would not be profiteering from those on low or no income. It costs the tax payers of Portsmouth too much to pay private landlords mortgages | |

| 442 | Roseanne | Feedback (Q4-10) | Question 6b: Do you have any further comments or suggestions about the suggested approach to the provision of housing in Portsmouth? | High rise, whilst it has the potential for brilliance, should be really overseen to prevent leaseholders becoming stuck with huge bills when items relating to poor build quality come to light |
